Commissioned device-sales program

Let Yellow City Tech Sell Your Device

Yellow City Tech may accept an individual device or lot, prepare it for sale, find and support the buyer, and divide the remaining sale amount with the owner after approved parts and repair costs.

Acceptance is case by case. A preliminary evaluation does not guarantee final acceptance, a buyer, a sale price, or a payout.

Clear costs and split

How the commissioned sale is divided

  1. 1

Yellow City Tech evaluates the device or lot and decides whether to accept the project.

  2. 2

Any required repair, refurbishment, or parts costs are explained to and approved by the owner.

  3. 3

Yellow City Tech prepares, repairs or refurbishes when approved, tests, lists, markets, and sells the device.

  4. 4

Approved parts and repair costs are deducted from the completed sale price.

  5. 5

The owner receives 70% of the remaining amount, and Yellow City Tech receives 30%.

The formula

Sale price − approved parts and repair costs = amount divided 70/30

Device owner

70%

of the remaining amount

Yellow City Tech

30%

of the remaining amount

Illustrative example

Final sale price
$500
Approved parts and repair costs
$100
Remaining amount
$400
Owner receives 70%
$280
Yellow City Tech receives 30%
$120

This example illustrates the calculation only. It does not guarantee a sale price, repair cost, buyer, or payout.

Yellow City Tech handles the selling work

The original owner does not have to repair the device, write the listing, answer repetitive buyer messages, arrange the transaction, or personally provide warranty and technical support to the buyer.

Accepted repair and refurbishment work is performed directly by Yellow City Tech at its building in Amarillo, Texas. Customer devices are not mailed to outside repair centers or quietly subcontracted. Replacement parts may be shipped to Yellow City Tech, but the device stays at the Amarillo building during accepted work.

Approval before deductions

Yellow City Tech explains the proposed work and discusses required parts or repair expenses with the owner before they are approved and deducted. Undisclosed repairs are not performed and then presented as a surprise deduction.

The calculation published here deducts only approved parts and repair costs before the 70/30 split. Final sale terms are reviewed and agreed upon before Yellow City Tech accepts the device.

Case-by-case acceptance

Condition, completeness, repair needs, demand, and the work required all affect whether a project is practical. A preliminary evaluation is not final acceptance, and a price or payout is not guaranteed until a completed sale occurs.

Yellow City Tech supports the buyer

Devices sold through the commissioned-sales program receive Yellow City Tech’s standard 30-day limited guarantee and 30 days of free technical support. Yellow City Tech handles qualifying warranty questions and post-sale support; the original owner is not expected to support the buyer.

The guarantee covers applicable workmanship problems, repaired issues resurfacing, and unexpected failures related to completed work under normal use. It does not cover new accidents, spills, abuse, or other major damage outside Yellow City Tech’s control.

Repair and preparation remain transparent

Yellow City Tech evaluates what the device needs, explains the proposed repair or refurbishment, and asks for the owner’s approval before the cost is included in the commissioned sale. The 30-day benefits begin when the sold device is delivered or returned to its buyer.

Individual devices and bulk lots

Businesses, organizations, families, and individuals can request an evaluation for one item or a group of equipment. Every device and lot remains subject to case-by-case approval.

Request a bulk-lot evaluation
  • Individual devices
  • Multiple-device groups
  • Business equipment
  • Bulk computer or laptop lots
  • Collections of usable components

Yellow City Tech may determine that only part of a group is practical to accept based on condition, completeness, repair needs, demand, and the work required. Not every item in a lot is guaranteed to be repaired, listed, or accepted.

Prepare for an evaluation

Back up important information when possible, be prepared to remove personal accounts or activation locks, and confirm that you have the right to sell the equipment. Do not submit passwords, passcodes, bank credentials, or payment-card information through the contact form.

Review the Terms of Service

Would commissioned sales fit your device?

Tell Yellow City Tech what you have, its condition, and whether it is one item or a larger lot. The request begins a personal evaluation, not an automatic acceptance.
